Dear Dad
The pain we have felt since you have left us is something I cannot even describe. But today I move on a stronger person with even more determination to succeed in life because I know that's what you would have wanted me to do.I want to thank you for making me the person I am and although I could not be with you on this day in body, I am here with you in spirit. You gave me the gift of music, even though I only began playing to avoid PE lessons at school. I will have that gift for the rest of my life. So often, Adrian and I speak fondly of many things that were so you dad. Probably the most memorable was your first meeting with Adrian when you came to my graduation in Salford. Making tea in the kitchen one morning, Adrian walked in and you turned round, looked him up and down and said in such a way that only you could do, "Are you sleeping with my Daughter? That's very rude". We have had so many more opportunities in life that were never open to you but you were always so supportive. I remember, just before I left to live in Australia, you said to me, "Paula, whatever happens here, you make sure you have the best life you can". Words that meant so much to me and still do. I don't want you to worry about us dad. I want you to be proud of all of our achievements and milestones yet to come.
I am comforted in the knowledge that you are in a much happier place now, and I'm sure that the library's in heaven will always be open for you.
